FAQ

Which devices does RankFit support?+

RankFit runs on iPhone and Android phones. The beta is distributed through TestFlight (iOS) and Google Play testing tracks (Android). Public store listings follow after the beta.

Is it free?+

Everything is free during the beta. If we introduce paid features later, we'll announce pricing in the app before anything changes, and logging your workouts and exporting your data will stay free.

How is my rank calculated?+

From the sets you log: load, reps and exercise, compared against strength and volume standards for each training domain. Bodyweight and sex are used, if you provide them, to make the standards fair. Ranks are a motivation tool, not a medical or fitness assessment.

Who can see my workouts?+

You choose. Each post to the feed has its own audience, and your profile and rank are only visible to people you allow. We never sell your data or use your workout logs for advertising.

Can I export or delete my data?+

Yes. You can export your full workout history from the app, and deleting your account removes your personal data from our live systems within 30 days. Details are in the .

I'm new to lifting. Is this for me?+

Yes. Everyone starts at Trainee. If you're new to resistance training, have a medical condition, or are returning from injury, talk to a doctor first and read our .

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("RankFit", "we", "us"), covering the RankFit mobile application, website, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

2. Licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial training purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the app except where the law expressly allows it; scrape or bulk-extract data from the Service; or use the Service to build a competing product. When you download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply, and the store is not responsible for the app or its support.

3. Features, beta access and changes

The Service includes workout logging, exercise libraries and demonstrations, muscle heatmaps, analytics, ranks, social features (friends, feed, reactions, groups and group sessions), and cosmetic profile items. Beta features are provided for testing, may contain errors, and may be changed, reset or removed. We may reset or recalculate ranks, leaderboards and cosmetic rewards when we change scoring rules or correct errors, and these have no monetary value. Free features may change; if we introduce paid features we will show the price and terms before you buy.

4. Health and fitness: assumption of risk

RankFit is not a medical service and does not provide medical, physiotherapy, nutritional or professional coaching advice. Programs, exercise demonstrations, rest timers, volume targets, ranks and analytics are general information and motivational tools. They are not tailored to your health, injuries or ability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume all risks of injury arising from physical activity you undertake in connection with the Service, and you release RankFit from claims for such injury, except where the injury is caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or where the law does not allow this release. The stand-alone Health & Medical Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.

5. Your content and data

5.1 You own your content

You keep ownership of everything you create or upload: workout logs, sets, notes, custom exercises, routines and programs, body metrics, photos, posts, comments and profile details ("User Content").

5.2 Licence you give us

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce and display your User Content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service — for example to compute ranks and heatmaps, show your posts to the audience you selected, and display your rank on profiles you have made visible. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies held in routine backups for a limited period, content others have already re-shared within the app, and data we must keep by law.

5.3 Public profile and ranks

Your display name, avatar, rank tier and cosmetic items may be visible to other users according to your privacy settings. Rank tiers are calculated by our scoring system; you own your underlying logs, but not the rank system, artwork or scoring methods.

5.4 Aggregated data

We may create aggregated or de-identified statistics from training data (for example, typical weekly volume across all users) to calibrate ranks and improve the Service. These statistics do not identify you.

5.5 Responsibility for content

You confirm you have the rights to anything you post and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. You must have consent from anyone who appears in photos you post.

We may remove content, reset falsified ranks, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where practical and a summary of the reason. You may appeal by emailing [email protected]. You may delete your account at any time in the app's account settings. On termination your licence ends, and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections 4, 5.4, 8, 9 and 10 survive termination.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of calculations (such as estimated one-rep maxes, volume or calorie figures) and uninterrupted availability. Keep your own records of anything important; use the export feature.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, RankFit will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 100 USD. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.

10. Indemnity, law and disputes

You agree to indemnify RankFit against third-party claims arising from your User Content or your breach of these Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], and disputes will be handled by its courts, unless the consumer law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings at home, in which case that right is preserved.

11. Changes and contact

We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, or payment card data. We do not read data from Apple Health or Google Health Connect unless a future feature asks for your explicit permission first.

2. Why we use it, and our legal bases (GDPR)

We do not sell personal data, do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and do not use training or health-related data for advertising. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you solely by automated means; rank calculation is automated but only affects in-app standing.

4. Storage, security and international transfers

Data is stored on servers located in [HOSTING REGION], encrypted in transit (TLS) and protected by access controls limited to staff who need it. Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) or an adequacy decision. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you and the relevant authority of a breach where the law requires.

In the app you can view and edit your profile, change audience and visibility settings, export your workout history, delete individual logs and posts, and delete your account. You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.

EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to processing, to data portability (a machine-readable export), and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You may complain to your local data-protection authority.

California and other US states (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; and to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined, and we only use sensitive information (such as health-related data) to provide the Service you requested. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with your signed permission.

To exercise any right, email [email protected] from your account email. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA), extendable where the law allows.

7. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if we learn we have, we delete the account and its data.

This landing page sets no tracking or advertising cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts and styling from a CDN, which receive your IP address as part of delivering those files.

Heavy and high-volume lifting, training to failure, and near-maximal attempts can cause muscle strains and tears, tendon ruptures, joint and spinal injury, rhabdomyolysis, dangerous rises in blood pressure, fainting, and in rare cases cardiac events or death. Dropped or uncontrolled weights can injure you and others.

Estimated 1RMs, volume, calorie and other figures are approximations based on formulas and what you log. They can be wrong. Do not rely on them to choose a weight you cannot safely lift.
